Aladdin Capital
Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Connecticut, Aladdin Capital was an investment management firm and broker-dealer focused on leveraged finance and alternative credit products. The firm gained prominence for its management of structured credit products, including CDOs and CLOs, for institutional investors. Following the 2008 financial crisis, the market for these products changed dramatically. The company began winding down its operations, and in 2012, ORIX USA acquired the majority of Aladdin's asset management business, specifically its CLO contracts. Its broker-dealer arm was acquired by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) around the same period. The original entity is now defunct.
