TradeFreedom
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 2000, TradeFreedom was a Toronto-based pioneer in the Canadian online brokerage industry, known for its low-cost, flat-fee commission structure for trading stocks, options, and other securities. It provided retail investors with direct access to North American markets through its proprietary trading platform. In early 2007, TradeFreedom was acquired by E*TRADE Canada, which was subsequently acquired by Scotiabank in late 2007. The platform and its services were then merged and rebranded, ultimately becoming part of the Scotia iTRADE brokerage service.
