The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is a US-based non-profit organization founded in 2014 by Jed McCaleb and Joyce Kim. Its mission is to create equitable access to the global financial system by supporting the development and growth of the Stellar network, an open-source, distributed blockchain designed to facilitate fast, low-cost cross-border payments and digital asset issuance. The SDF helps maintain the Stellar network's codebase, supports the technical and business communities around Stellar, and serves as a speaking partner to regulators and institutions.
