Stargate Finance is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol built upon the LayerZero interoperability layer. Its primary function is to act as a cross-chain bridge, allowing users and decentralized applications (dApps) to transfer native assets between different blockchains without the need for wrapped or intermediate tokens. Launched in March 2022, Stargate utilizes unified liquidity pools and a novel Delta Algorithm to offer instant guaranteed finality for transactions, aiming to solve the "bridging trilemma" (instant finality, unified liquidity, native assets). The protocol is governed by its community through the native token, STG, which can be staked to participate in governance and receive protocol fees.
