Snapcard
Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 2013 and based in San Francisco, Snapcard was a financial technology company focused on making Bitcoin and other digital currencies more accessible for everyday use. The company's platform provided several services, including a digital wallet for storing and managing cryptocurrencies, an exchange service for buying and selling Bitcoin, and a payment gateway ("Snapcard Pay") for merchants to accept digital currency payments online and in-store. After participating in the Y Combinator accelerator program and raising venture capital, Snapcard was acquired by the UK-based crypto-payment company Wirex in February 2016, and its services were subsequently integrated or phased out.
