Shandong Gold Group is one of the largest gold producers in China, and the largest in Shandong Province. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province. It is the only state-owned gold producer in China. Shandong Gold Group is engaged in gold mining, prospecting, geology research, gold processing and gold trading. The group operates over 20 gold mines, including the Yantai Gold Mine, the largest gold mine in China. It also has interests in non-gold businesses, including property development, financial services, and pharmaceuticals.
