Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 2017 as a subsidiary of the payment services company Omise, OmiseGO aimed to build a decentralized payment network and exchange on the Ethereum blockchain. Its core technology was "More is More" Plasma, a Layer-2 scaling solution designed to significantly increase transaction throughput and reduce costs. In June 2020, OmiseGO rebranded to OMG Network to better reflect its focus on network infrastructure. The project was later acquired by Enya, a decentralized infrastructure provider. However, the OMG Network V1 mainnet was officially sunset on June 1, 2023, effectively ending its primary public operations.
