Northstar Securities, LLC was the wholesale broker-dealer subsidiary of NorthStar Asset Management Group Inc. Founded to act as a dealer-manager, the firm specialized in the distribution of public, non-traded investment products, primarily real estate investment trusts (REITs), to a network of financial advisors and other broker-dealers across the United States. Following a series of mergers involving its parent company with Colony Capital, the business was eventually wound down, and its FINRA registration was terminated in 2018 as the newly formed entity, Colony NorthStar (now DigitalBridge), shifted its strategic focus.
