NewAlliance Bank was a publicly-traded regional banking institution headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut. It was originally founded in 1838 as the New Haven Savings Bank. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, it grew to become one of the largest banks in Connecticut, offering a full range of banking, trust, and investment services to individuals, families, and businesses. In 2011, NewAlliance Bank was acquired by First Niagara Financial Group for approximately $1.5 billion. Subsequently, First Niagara was acquired by KeyBank in 2016, and all former NewAlliance Bank operations are now part of KeyBank.
