The National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) in the Philippines, created in 1977 by Presidential Decree 1267. Its primary mission is to develop and operate a robust secondary market for home mortgages. The NHMFC purchases mortgage assets from primary lenders such as private developers, banks, and financial institutions, thereby replenishing their funds and enabling them to grant more housing loans to Filipino homebuyers. This process enhances the liquidity of the housing finance system and contributes to a more sustainable and accessible housing market in the country.
