The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia is the independent central bank of the country, established in 1946. Its primary objective is to achieve and maintain price stability. Other key objectives include contributing to the stability of the financial system, supporting general economic policies, managing foreign exchange reserves, regulating the payment systems, and issuing banknotes and coins. The Bank acts as the banker for the government and is the supervisory authority for the country's banking system.
