Launched in 2014, MexiCoin was one of Mexico's first Bitcoin exchanges. The company's mission was to provide a secure, reliable, and user-friendly platform for the Mexican market to buy, sell, and trade Bitcoin using the local currency (MXN). It aimed to increase the adoption of cryptocurrency within the region. In early 2015, MexiCoin was acquired by the Singapore-based cryptocurrency company Me xBT as part of its strategic expansion into the Latin American market, after which the MexiCoin brand and platform were phased out.
