Founded in 1993, MDM Bank grew to become one of Russia's largest and most reputable private financial institutions. It operated as a universal bank, offering a comprehensive suite of services to corporate clients, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and retail customers. Its operations included lending, deposit-taking, payment services, investment banking, and private banking. In 2016, in a major consolidation within the Russian banking sector, MDM Bank merged with B&N Bank (Binbank). The combined entity continued under the B&N Bank brand, which was subsequently bailed out by the Russian Central Bank in 2017 and fully integrated into Otkritie Financial Corporation Bank.
