Founded in 2007, MarketFactory established itself as a leading technology provider in the foreign exchange (FX) market. Its core mission was to offer a single, ultra-low-latency API, named "Whisperer," that allowed financial institutions to connect seamlessly to over 100 FX ECNs, banks, and liquidity providers. This solved the complex and costly problem of building and maintaining individual connections to multiple trading venues. In 2019, MarketFactory was acquired by ION Group and has since been integrated into its ION Markets division, continuing to provide high-performance FX connectivity and trading solutions under the ION brand.
