Leverj was a decentralized exchange (DEX) designed for high-speed trading of cryptocurrency derivatives, such as perpetual swaps. It aimed to provide the user experience and speed of a centralized exchange while maintaining the security and non-custodial nature of a decentralized platform through its custom layer-2 scaling solution, Gluon Plasma. The project launched its mainnet in 2020 but officially announced its closure in April 2022, ceasing all exchange and service operations on May 31, 2022, citing challenges in the competitive DEX landscape and the complexities of its underlying technology.
