Kua Ventures is a Kenya-based investment firm established to address the "missing middle" funding gap for SMEs that are too large for micro-finance but unable to secure capital from traditional banks or private equity. Launched in 2020 by Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Kenya and Open Society Foundations (OSF), the company provides patient capital, primarily through mezzanine financing, to help businesses scale their operations and create jobs. Beyond financing, Kua Ventures offers technical assistance and strategic support to its portfolio companies to foster sustainable growth.
