Kipochi

Information by Research Trustfinance

Kipochi was a fintech startup launched around 2013 that provided a user-friendly Bitcoin wallet. Its primary mission was to leverage Bitcoin's global network to offer cheaper and faster financial services, particularly in emerging markets. The company's key innovation was its integration with Kenya's popular M-Pesa mobile money platform, allowing users to easily convert between Kenyan Shillings and Bitcoin. However, in late 2014, Safaricom, the operator of M-Pesa, blocked Kipochi from its network, which was a critical blow to the company's business model and led to its eventual closure.
