Keep Network was an infrastructure project designed to bring private data to public blockchains securely. Its core technology centered around "keeps," which are off-chain containers for private data that smart contracts can access without exposing the data to the public blockchain. The project's mission was to solve a critical issue in blockchain technology: the inability of smart contracts to handle sensitive information. In early 2022, the Keep Network and NuCypher, another privacy-focused protocol, executed the first-ever on-chain merger of two decentralized networks, combining their communities and technologies to form the Threshold Network. The original KEEP token has since been migrated to the new T (Threshold) token.
