The Investor Compensation Company DAC (ICC) is an independent body established under Ireland's Investor Compensation Act of 1998. Its primary mission is to administer and manage the investor compensation scheme for the Republic of Ireland. The scheme is designed to protect eligible investors by providing a limited amount of compensation if an authorized investment firm, which is a member of the scheme, goes out of business and cannot return money or investments owed to its clients. The ICC is funded by levies collected from authorized investment firms and operates to build confidence in the Irish financial services industry.
