IEX Group
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 2012 and famously profiled in Michael Lewis's book "Flash Boys," IEX Group was created to build a more equitable stock market for all participants. Its core mission is to protect investors from predatory high-frequency trading strategies. The company operates the Investors' Exchange (IEX), a U.S. national securities exchange which received SEC approval in 2016. A key feature of the IEX exchange is its proprietary "speed bump" (the IEX Signal), a 350-microsecond delay designed to level the playing field between ordinary investors and high-speed traders. Beyond the exchange, IEX also offers market data and technology services.
