Founded in 1982, Hornbuckle (formerly Hornbuckle Mitchell) was a prominent UK-based financial services company specializing in the administration of self-invested and small self-administered pension schemes. It was one of the pioneers in the Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) market, providing flexible retirement solutions for individuals and businesses. In 2016, Hornbuckle was acquired by the Embark Group and was subsequently rebranded as Embark Pensions. The Embark Group itself was later acquired by Lloyds Banking Group in 2022, integrating its services into the Scottish Widows business. Today, the services and clients of the former Hornbuckle business are managed under the Embark Pensions and Scottish Widows brands.
