Established on 14th August 1862, the High Court of Bombay is a constitutional court and one of the most distinguished high courts in India. It has a sanctioned strength of 94 judges and is a court of record, possessing all the powers of such a court including the power to punish for contempt of itself. Its history and contribution to the Indian legal system are significant, having produced some of India's most eminent lawyers and judges. The court's mission is to uphold the rule of law and ensure the administration of justice within its territorial jurisdiction.
