The Hedge Project was a blockchain-based platform launched around 2017 with the mission to simplify cryptocurrency investing. Its core service was the creation of "Crypto Traded Indices™," which were tokenized baskets of various cryptocurrencies. This allowed investors to gain diversified exposure to different sectors of the crypto market (e.g., top 30 coins, privacy coins) by holding a single index token, rather than purchasing each asset individually. The project conducted an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) for its native Hedge Token (HDG), which was intended to be used for platform fees and other utilities. The project has been dormant since approximately 2019.
