It provided a wide range of services, including merger and acquisition advisory, corporate finance, equity research, and institutional sales and trading to corporate, institutional, and high-net-worth clients. The parent company, GMP Capital Inc., underwent a significant transformation, culminating in the 2020 acquisition of its capital markets business by Stifel Financial Corp. As a result, GMP Securities was rebranded and integrated into Stifel's operations, now forming the foundation of Stifel's Canadian presence under the names Stifel GMP and Stifel Canada.
