Founded in 1999, GAIN Capital Holdings, Inc. was a U.S.-based global leader in the online trading industry. The company provided market access and trade execution services to retail and institutional customers in foreign exchange (forex), contracts for difference (CFDs), and exchange-based products. Its most prominent retail-facing brands included Forex.com and City Index. GAIN Capital was a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: GCAP) until it was acquired by StoneX Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SNEX) for approximately $236 million in a deal that closed in July 2020. Its operations and brands have since been integrated into StoneX's Global Retail division.
