FutureAdvisor
Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 2010, FutureAdvisor was a pioneer in the robo-advisor industry, offering automated, algorithm-driven investment management services to the public. The platform was designed to help individuals manage their existing investment accounts, such as 401(k)s and IRAs, by providing personalized recommendations and portfolio management. In 2015, the company was acquired by BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager. Following the acquisition, FutureAdvisor continued its direct-to-consumer offering while also developing enterprise solutions for other financial institutions. In late 2022, BlackRock announced it would be closing the direct-to-consumer service to new clients and transitioning existing ones, focusing the FutureAdvisor technology on supporting its institutional partners.
