friends mutual limited
Information by Research TrustFinance
Originally founded in 1832 as a friendly society for Quakers, the company evolved into Friends Provident. It demutualised in 2001, listing on the London Stock Exchange. After acquiring the insurance arms of Bupa and AXA UK, it was rebranded as Friends Life in 2011. In 2015, Friends Life Group was acquired by Aviva plc in a multi-billion pound deal, one of the largest in the UK insurance sector. The Friends Life brand has since been retired, and all its operations, policies, and customers have been integrated into Aviva, which now manages its legacy portfolio of life insurance, pensions, and investment products.
