Established in 1999, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Belize is a self-financing statutory body tasked with regulating and supervising the non-bank financial sector. Its mission is to protect and promote Belize's reputation as a premier international financial services center by effectively administering legislation, fostering a sound and stable market, and deterring financial crime. The FSC is responsible for licensing and overseeing activities such as international banking, insurance, mutual funds, and trading in financial and commodity-based derivative instruments.
