Edvest 529 is a state-sponsored, tax-advantaged savings plan designed to help families save for qualified higher education expenses. The plan is sponsored by the State of Wisconsin College Savings Program Board and is managed by TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc. (TFI), a part of TIAA. Established to encourage saving for future college costs, Edvest 529 allows for tax-deferred growth and tax-free withdrawals for qualified education expenses at federal and state levels. While the plan is open to any U.S. citizen or resident alien, Wisconsin residents may be eligible for a state income tax deduction on their contributions.
