Founded in 2018, Denarii was a financial technology company headquartered in Dubai that focused on providing digital financial services for migrant workers. Its primary product was a mobile wallet that enabled users to manage their finances and perform cross-border remittances easily and at a lower cost than traditional services. The platform initially targeted overseas Filipino workers in the UAE before expanding its services. In July 2022, Denarii was acquired by the regional super-app Careem. The Denarii team and its underlying technology were integrated into Careem Pay to enhance and expand its international remittance and digital payment capabilities.
