DDEX was one of the early decentralized exchanges launched in 2017, initially built on the 0x Protocol. The platform enabled users to trade Ethereum-based ERC-20 tokens directly from their wallets in a peer-to-peer manner, without relying on a central custodian. The team behind DDEX, based in Beijing, later developed the Hydro Protocol to address liquidity and performance issues in the DEX space. In 2020, the team announced a shift in focus, winding down DDEX's margin and lending products to concentrate on building a new DeFi project, Perpetual Protocol. The original ddex.io exchange is no longer active.
