Established in 1974, the Canada-Wide Industrial Pension Plan (CWIPP) is a multi-employer pension plan (MEPP) designed to provide a simple, flexible, and affordable retirement solution for both unionized and non-unionized employees. It operates as a target benefit plan, pooling contributions and investments from multiple employers to provide a lifetime pension to its members. The plan is managed by a Board of Trustees with equal representation from management and labour, aiming to deliver secure and stable retirement income.
