Originally operating as Emporiki Bank Romania, the institution was acquired by the French financial group Crédit Agricole in 2012 and rebranded as Crédit Agricole Bank Romania. It functioned as a universal bank, providing a comprehensive range of financial products and services to individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large corporate clients across Romania. In 2021, Crédit Agricole Group sold its Romanian subsidiary to Vista Bank Romania, and all operations, clients, and employees were subsequently integrated into Vista Bank, ceasing the use of the Crédit Agricole brand in the Romanian retail and corporate banking market.
