Founded in 1891, Congregational & General Insurance plc (CGI) built a long-standing reputation as a specialist insurer for churches, charities, and community organisations, primarily within the United Kingdom. Its mission was to provide tailored insurance solutions to protect the property, people, and activities of faith-based and not-for-profit groups. As of January 1st, 2021, the company ceased writing new business or renewing policies, and on December 31st, 2021, its business was formally transferred to Integra Insurance Solutions Ltd. While the company remains active and authorised by the FCA, it is now in a state of 'run-off', managing existing liabilities.
