Originally chartered in 1897 to provide prepaid medical services to the employees of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, the C&O Employees’ Hospital Association (COHA) has evolved into a modern health benefit plan. As a self-insured, not-for-profit organization, COHA is governed by a board of trustees and focuses on providing comprehensive and cost-effective health coverage. Its mission is to serve the healthcare needs of its members, who are primarily eligible active and retired employees of CSX Transportation and other associated railroad companies.
