Botswana International Financial Services Centre
Information by Research TrustFinance
Established in 2003, the Botswana International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) is a key initiative by the Government of Botswana to diversify the economy beyond the mining sector. Its mission is to develop a competitive and robust international financial services industry. The IFSC offers a preferential tax regime and a stable regulatory environment to attract companies providing a wide range of financial services to clients in other countries. In 2012, its functions were consolidated into the newly formed Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), where it continues to operate as a core division responsible for certifying and supporting IFSC-accredited companies.
