BLOM Bank Egypt
Information by Research Trustfinance
Originally established in Egypt in 1977 as Misr Romania Bank, it was acquired by BLOM Bank S.A.L. (a leading Lebanese bank) in 2005 and subsequently renamed BLOM Bank Egypt. The bank operated as a subsidiary, offering a full suite of banking products to corporate, retail, and institutional clients across Egypt. In August 2021, Arab Banking Corporation (Bank ABC) completed the acquisition of a 99.5% stake in BLOM Bank Egypt. Following the acquisition, the bank was fully integrated and rebranded as Bank ABC Egypt, combining the operations of both entities to strengthen its market position in the country.
