Founded in 2013 by Nick Spanos, Bitcoin Center NYC was a pioneering brick-and-mortar establishment dedicated to the promotion and adoption of Bitcoin. Located at 40 Broad Street, it served as a physical exchange for over-the-counter (OTC) Bitcoin trading, an educational center offering classes and seminars, and a community hub for cryptocurrency enthusiasts and developers. Its mission was to demystify Bitcoin for the general public and the Wall Street community, providing a tangible presence for the then-nascent digital currency. The center ceased its physical operations in 2015.
