Established in 1975, BANQUE POUR LE COMMERCE EXTERIEUR LAO PUBLIC originally served as a specialized agency of the Central Bank to manage international trade and financial transactions for the state. It was transformed into a fully-fledged commercial bank in 1989 and later became a public company listed on the Lao Securities Exchange in 2011. As one of the largest banks in Laos, BCEL provides a wide array of financial products, including deposits, loans, credit cards, digital banking (BCEL One), and international trade finance, serving individual, SME, and corporate clients across the country and facilitating international commerce.
