WorldPay Zinc
Information by Research TrustFinance
Launched in 2013 by WorldPay, WorldPay Zinc was a mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) solution designed to serve sole traders and small businesses in the United Kingdom. The service provided merchants with a small, portable Chip & PIN keypad that connected to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth, enabling them to accept credit and debit card payments anywhere. It operated on a pay-as-you-go model with no monthly fees, positioning it as a direct competitor to emerging fintechs like iZettle and SumUp. The WorldPay Zinc brand and specific service were eventually discontinued as its features were absorbed into the broader small business offerings of the parent company, WorldPay (now part of FIS).
