Vijaya Insurance was not a standalone insurance company but the name associated with the insurance products distributed by Vijaya Bank. Established in 1931, Vijaya Bank was a major public sector bank headquartered in Bangalore, India. As part of its financial services, it operated as a corporate agent (bancassurance model) to sell life and general insurance policies from various partner insurance companies to its customers. Following the Government of India's amalgamation plan, Vijaya Bank, along with Dena Bank, merged into Bank of Baroda effective April 1, 2019, ceasing its independent operations.
