Torus Insurance Holdings was a global specialty insurance group established in 2008 with backing from First Reserve Corporation and Corsair Capital. It provided a diverse range of property, casualty, and specialty insurance products to a global client base. In April 2014, Enstar Group Limited and Stone Point Capital acquired the company. Following the acquisition, Torus was rebranded as "StarStone". In 2020, StarStone's U.S. operations were recapitalized and rebranded as "Core Specialty," which continues to operate as a specialty commercial property and casualty insurer. StarStone's international business was sold to Inigo Limited.
