SoFi Hong Kong, originally known as 8 Securities, was a brokerage firm that provided a user-friendly mobile application for trading thousands of Hong Kong and U.S. stocks, as well as ETFs, with zero commissions. Its mission was to make investing simple, accessible, and affordable for individuals in Hong Kong. In 2020, the company was acquired by the US fintech giant SoFi Technologies, Inc. and rebranded. However, in April 2024, it was announced that Futu Holdings Limited had acquired the company, and the SoFi Hong Kong app and services would be officially terminated on May 28, 2024, with client accounts being migrated to Futu's platform.
