Founded in 2017 in Kenya, Sky.Garden was a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform built to empower African businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, by providing them with the tools to create and manage their own online storefronts. The platform aimed to digitize local merchants and connect them to a wider customer base with a focus on mobile-first commerce. Despite raising several funding rounds and onboarding thousands of merchants, the company announced in March 2023 that it was ceasing all operations after failing to secure a new round of investment.
