Originally chartered in 1947 as the Washington Telephone Federal Credit Union to serve employees of the C&P Telephone Company, the institution was renamed Signal Financial Federal Credit Union in 1993. It has since expanded its field of membership to include over 200 sponsor groups, residents of specific geographic areas, and their families. As a not-for-profit cooperative, its mission is to provide its members with a full range of financial services, including savings, checking, loans, and investment products, while returning profits to members through better rates and lower fees.
