The Sequoia Project is a non-profit organization that serves as a trusted convener and steward for nationwide health information exchange. Initially launched in 2012 as a project of Healtheway, it now operates independently to advance the implementation of secure, interoperable health data sharing. Its key initiatives include the eHealth Exchange, the largest public-private health information network in the US; Carequality, a national-level, consensus-built interoperability framework; and serving as the Recognized Coordinating Entity (RCE) by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support the implementation of the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).
