Information by Research TrustFinance
Established in 1980 by the Alaska State Legislature, the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) is a quasi-governmental entity tasked with prudently investing and managing the assets of the Alaska Permanent Fund. The fund's principal is derived from a portion of the state's oil and mineral revenues, with the mission of converting a non-renewable resource into a perpetual financial resource for the benefit of all current and future generations of Alaskans. APFC's management of the fund provides a consistent source of revenue for the state and funds the annual Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) for eligible Alaska residents.
