Pennie is the state-based health insurance marketplace for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Established by state law (Act 42 of 2019), it operates as the official platform under the ACA, taking over from the federal HealthCare.gov for Pennsylvanians. Its mission is to increase access to affordable, high-quality health coverage by connecting residents with a variety of health and dental insurance plans. Pennie is the only source for Pennsylvanians to access financial assistance, such as tax credits and cost-sharing reductions, to lower the cost of their monthly premiums and out-of-pocket expenses.
