Founded in 2009 in Toronto, PayBright was one of Canada's leading providers of 'Buy Now, Pay Later' (BNPL) solutions. The company's mission was to offer consumers more flexible and transparent payment options at the point of sale, allowing them to break down the cost of purchases into interest-free bi-weekly payments or monthly installments. In January 2021, PayBright was acquired by the U.S.-based financial technology company Affirm, Inc. to facilitate Affirm's expansion into the Canadian market. Since the acquisition, the PayBright brand has been progressively phased out and is now operating fully under the Affirm name in Canada.
