Passfolio was a U.S.-based brokerage platform, backed by Y Combinator, with a mission to provide global access to the American financial system. It targeted investors outside of the United States, particularly in Latin America, offering commission-free trading of U.S. stocks, ETFs, and fractional shares, as well as cryptocurrency trading. In August 2022, Passfolio announced it was discontinuing its services and entered into an agreement to transfer its client accounts to Sproutfi (formerly Passofli), another fintech focused on investments for Latin American customers.
